Mepham’s come out firing on the lacrosse field and notched a second straight win with a 16-10 win over Sewanhaka on April 2. The Lady Pirates (4-3 overall, 3-2 in conference play) have piled up 31 goals with junior Nicole Stackpole standing front-and-center in the recent scoring surge. Kevin Brennan, a New York City police officer and a 2001 Mepham High School graduate, was shot in the head while chasing a suspect in a Brooklyn housing development at around 9 p.m. on Jan. 31, but survived and is now in stable condition, according to a New York City Police Department spokesperson. more
