The Our Lady of Peace Parish Social Ministry’s food pantry is stocked for the holidays, but its director, Sister Barbara Faber, said the pantry will still need donations after the holiday season is over.

For the sixth year , the Patrick Xavier Owens’ Games will be held at East Rockaway High School on Dec. 19, beginning at 10 a.m. The annual event, which was organized by Patrick’s brother, Alan, is in the memory of a brave young boy who died in 1997, at the age of five.

That’s why East Rockaway officials are ahead of the curve when it comes to recycling e-waste, which not only benefits the environment, but saves the village money.
