Valley Stream South High School raised $2,500 for the Hewlett House on June 8 by hosting a faculty softball game. Three seniors organized the event and coached the two teams to raise money in honor of two South teachers who are currently battling breast cancer. more

While Mitchelle Joseph was the clear cut valedictorian for Valley Stream South High School’s class of 2012, determining the salutatorian wasn’t so easy. After calculating grade point averages to two decimal places, Mariyam Qureshi and David Li were still tied. So, the honor went to both of them. more

With their respective seasons over, the Central and South varsity baseball squads hit the diamond one last time on May 12 at South High School for the annual Mayor’s Cup game. South’s Falcons came from behind to defeat the Central Eagles 10-7. more
