A two-year-old boy was found in a swimming pool at 10:44 a.m. yesterday morning, said Detective Dux of the Nassau County Police Department. The child was found in a pool on Vivian Court in Baldwin by a relative. According to Dux, the relative retrieved the boy and summoned emergency services. CPR was administered to the child who was removed to South Nassau Community Hospital. He is listed in critical condition. more

They might not know it, but members of the Jericho boys’ swim team have targets on their backs. The Bellmore-Merrick Sharks tied Jericho last season, and fell to the squad by two points in a meet this year. The Sharks now say they’re hoping for a different outcome the next time the two teams meet, at the county championships in February. They want to win. more
