It was standing room only on Monday in East Rockaway’s Village Hall as the village held its annual reorganization meeting. Francis T. Lenahan was sworn in as mayor and named Trustee Bruno Romano his deputy mayor. Newly elected Trustees Stanley Lombardo and Ed Corrado sat on the dais for the first time.

Irene Villacci, 46, an East Rockaway village trustee since 2005, resigned from the board on Monday.
“My family and friends wanted me to step down after [Mayor Ed Sieban’s] death last July,” Villacci said. “They knew that Richard Meagher and I were committed to carrying out our fight for open government. When the election was over, I knew I had lost much quality time with my family and friends that I had to make up.”
