Why are districts being asked to spend taxpayer money for something the state itself keeps postponing? School budgets are limited. Every dollar spent on compliance is a dollar taken from classrooms, student programs and aging facilities. On Long Island, where homeowners already shoulder some of the highest property taxes in the country to support their schools, all of this is a grossly unfair burden. more
Gov. Kathy Hochul’s latest budget proposal would quietly strip away basic legal protections for people injured by cars and dump the costs of traffic violence onto victims, their families and taxpayers. Bad drivers and their insurance companies would get a pass. more
State government should act like families all across New York who have no choice but to carefully manage their budgets. When costs rise, they cut back, make adjustments, and try to stay in control of their finances. But in Albany, where Democrats control both houses of the legislature and the governor, they do the exact opposite — tax more, spend more and hope no one notices. more

Following changes in federal immigration enforcement policies in 2025, we have seen a profound impact on our students, our families and the very fabric of our school community. This is a challenge that ripples through our schools, affecting the stability and well-being of children who are the foundation of our community’s collective future. more

In District 30, those partnerships shape daily work. Our teachers, speech therapists, psychologists, social workers and administrators collaborate with families from the first referral through the early elementary years. Our goal is to give each child the support necessary to grow, communicate, learn and belong. more
School safety is a shared responsibility. By working together as a community, we can build environments where every child feels safe, supported and valued. more
