Baldwin Harbor Park was filled with color, laughter and community spirit on March 28 as families gathered for the Baldwin Civic Association’s annual Spring Eggstravaganza & Bazaar, a seasonal celebration that welcomed residents of all ages for an afternoon of festive fun.
The event began with a dedicated hour for neurodivergent children and their families, offering a quieter, more inclusive environment before opening to the wider public. Organizers said the goal was to ensure that all children could comfortably enjoy the celebration.
By midday, the park had come alive with activity. Children eagerly participated in scheduled egg hunts, which were divided by age groups, while others explored a variety of attractions set up throughout the grounds.
Game stations were spread across the park, drawing steady lines of excited participants hoping to win small prizes. Nearby, face-painting and temporary tattoo stations added to the festive atmosphere, with children choosing colorful designs that reflected the spirit of spring.
Food and refreshments were also a highlight of the day, with families enjoying a range of offerings, including classic treats like cotton candy. The combination of food, games and open space created a relaxed, carnival-like environment where attendees could spend hours between activities.
Live entertainment from local Baldwin talent added another layer of energy to the event. Performers showcased their skills throughout the afternoon, giving residents an opportunity to support and celebrate members of their own community.
The Easter Bunny made appearances throughout the day, greeting families, posing for photos and delighting younger children with hugs and high-fives. Long lines formed as families waited for their turn to capture the moment.
Baldwin High School Key Club students played a key role in bringing the event to life. Volunteers helped organize activities, manage crowds and ensure that each station ran smoothly, demonstrating a strong sense of community involvement and leadership.
More than just a holiday celebration, the Eggstravaganza served as a reminder of Baldwin’s close-knit community. Families reconnected, neighbors met and children created lasting memories as the village welcomed the arrival of spring together.
As the afternoon came to a close, many left with candy, prizes and painted faces — but the lasting takeaway was the sense of community that continues to define events like this in Baldwin.
