New York State School Music Association, NYSSMA, has designated Baldwin High School senior Ryan Clark an All-State performer—a highly selective ensemble comprising seniors and juniors and represent the best of New York musicians.
Clark, a seasoned tuba player and a member of Baldwin High School’s Wind Symphony, was selected out of thousands of participants from across the state that have demonstrated excellence on the highest level of difficulty during the NYSSMA solo evaluations. This is the highest state honor for student musicians. The all-state performers are invited to participate in NYSSMA’s annual Winter Conference at the Rochester Convention Center. This year’s event will take place November 30 through December 3.
“Ryan’s exceptional talent and dedication have earned him this prestigious designation and opportunity to perform at the Winter Conference,” said André Poprilo, the director of fine and performing arts for Baldwin Union Free School District, said. “He is a shining example of what hard work and perseverance can achieve. On behalf of the district, I congratulate Ryan on receiving this outstanding distinction.”
