Meadow Elementary school fourth-grader Kayden Bramwell was recently recognized in the National PTA’s annual art competition. This award is presented to students in the Reflections art program.
The award recognizes students involved in the National PTA’s Reflection program who study dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography and visual arts. Each year, the program engages more than 300,000 students at the local and state levels.
Kayden received the Award of Merit in the Intermediate Division for his visual arts piece, “Made of My Moments.” He was one of 11 students from New York selected to receive the national award as part of the 2025-26 PTA Reflections program.
“Our school community takes immense pride in fourth grader Kayden Bramwell for earning the National PTA Reflections Award,” Meadow Elementary principal Yolanda Martin said in a release sent to the Herald. “This prestigious recognition highlights exceptional creativity, dedication, and perseverance, and serves as an inspiring example of student excellence for all; and this is only the beginning!”
Students from Baldwin’s Brookside, Lenox, Meadow and Plaza elementary schools took part in this year’s PTA Reflections program. Twelve of the 50 participating students advanced to the state-level competition. Each participant was recognized by their school’s PTA with a certificate at the district Board of Education meeting in April.
The National PTA has been involved in promoting art education for over 50 years through the Reflections program. Their goal is to inspire young students to continue their passion for art.
A virtual exhibit of this year’s entries is expected to be available in June 2026.
