In an effort to stand up against bullying and promote acceptance and inclusion, students and faculty from the Baldwin School District participated in Unity Day 2023.
The annual awareness day, created by PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center, encourages people worldwide to wear orange as a sign of solidarity. Orange is a symbol of safety and visibility, and its vibrancy makes a strong and impactful statement. By wearing orange, the youth who are experiencing bullying are reminded that they are not alone.
Founded in 1977, the PACER Center was created by parents of children and youth with disabilities to help other parents and families facing similar challenges. Today, PACER Center expands opportunities and enhances the quality of life of children and young adults with disabilities and their families. PACER is staffed primarily by parents of children with disabilities. The PACER Center then launched the National Bullying Prevention Center in 2006 to actively lead social change to prevent childhood bullying, so that all youth are safe and supported in their schools, communities, and online.
