Hangout One Happy Place will host its Autism Walk on Saturday, April 25, inviting Baldwin residents and surrounding communities to come together in support of autism awareness and acceptance during Autism Awareness Month.
The walk will begin at 1 p.m. at Baldwin Park, offering a welcoming space for families, friends and supporters to connect while celebrating individuals on the autism spectrum. Organizers say the event is designed to promote inclusion and create a sense of community, with participants encouraged to walk together in a positive, supportive environment.
In addition to the walk, attendees can expect a family-friendly atmosphere centered on connection and advocacy. The event reflects the Hangout’s mission to provide a safe, uplifting space — a “happy place” — for those it serves.
Community members of all ages are invited to attend and show their support.
“Each step we take today is not just about awareness,” Hangout One Happy Place founder Angela Lucas said. “It’s about celebration.
“It’s about recognizing the beauty of every individual, the strength of community, and the simple truth that everyone deserves a happy place where they can shine.”
