Baldwin Board of Education President Pamela Green has been named a recipient of the Nassau-Suffolk School Boards Association’s 2026 Outstanding School Board Service Award, recognizing her longtime leadership and commitment to public education.

The award is presented annually to a school board trustee who has demonstrated at least 24 years of dedicated service. Green will be honored at the association’s 66th annual Business Dinner and School Board Service Awards Ceremony on May 28 at The Hamlet Golf & Country Club in Commack.

“Congratulations to Ms. Pamela Green on this well-deserved recognition,” Baldwin Superintendent Anthony Mignella said in a statement. “Ms. Green has been a steadfast and positive presence, demonstrating exceptional dedication to both the Baldwin community and our Board of Education.”

Green joined the Baldwin Board of Education in 2023 and was selected by fellow trustees to serve as board president for the 2025-26 school year. District officials said she has focused on transparency, collaboration and governance in support of student success.

A longtime Baldwin resident, Green is also the parent of five Baldwin High School graduates. Professionally, she brings more than two decades of experience in education, having served as a special education teacher and dean of students.

She has also worked as Nassau Region PTA’s diversity chair, advocating for equitable and inclusive practices in school communities.

Mignella said Green’s “commitment to service and advocacy for students truly embodies the spirit of this award, and we are proud to see her contributions recognized.”

Green holds School Building Leadership and School District Leadership certifications from the College of Saint Rose, a master’s degree in special education from St. John’s University and a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Virginia Union University.

The Nassau-Suffolk School Boards Association represents school board members across Long Island and annually recognizes trustees for outstanding leadership and years of service.
