Did you know that library cards in Nassau expire after three years? “Public libraries in New York are almost entirely funded by local taxes. When your card expires, it’s time to let your library know that you still reside within your library district,” stated Elizabeth Olesh, Director at the Baldwin Public Library.
Renewing your card is a simply process, the first step is visiting the library with some basic proof that you currently live in Baldwin (for example, a license or school ID.) Another method to get a card is calling the library at 516-223-6228 and answering a few questions, followed by sending proof of address. Visit www.baldwinpl.org/apply to start the process.
