Tax levy: $90,651,731
Change: +$1,349,122 (+1.51 percent)

Budget highlights: The proposed budget maintains all programs and class sizes in the district and restores programs that were cut last year. Included in the resotations are all three sports seasons for both Baldwin Middle School and Baldwin High School, fourth-grade instrumental music and Suzuki Violin and musical productions at BMS and BHS. The budget also funds a new kindergarten through fifth-grade math program and maintains the current level of staffing.

Revenue: The district is slated to receive about $25.2 million in state aid next year, an increase of about $1 million. Baldwin will also be using about $4.82 from its reserves.

Contingency budget: If the budget were to fail twice, the district would have to cut about $1.3 million from its proposed spending plan. Approximately 15 teachers would be cut, half-day kindergarten would be implemented, music, arts and athletics programs would be reduced and the district would begin charging groups to use school facilities.

Board of Education: There is one seat up for election this year. Community members Heather Cameron, Lorienton Palmer and Karyn Reid are vying for the spot.

Voting information: Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Baldwin High School
