Residents gathered at the Baldwin Fire Department headquarters on Saturday for Hook and Ladder Company One’s annual St. Patrick’s Day celebration, an evening filled with food, music and community spirit.
Held at the firehouse on Grand Avenue, the event brought together friends, families and supporters of the Baldwin Fire Department for a festive night honoring Irish tradition while supporting the volunteer fire service. Guests enjoyed a traditional St. Patrick’s Day meal of corned beef and cabbage provided by The Irish Pub, which helped keep the room full and spirits high throughout the evening on March 7.
Live entertainment added to the celebration as the Second Street Band performed lively Irish tunes that had guests clapping, singing and dancing along. Performers from the Show Stomping Irish Dancers also took to the floor, showcasing energetic Irish step dancing that delighted the crowd.
In addition to the music and food, the event featured a raffle and silent auction, with prizes generously donated by local businesses and community supporters. Among those contributing were Emile’s Candies, Kitty O’Hara’s, the Baldwin Historical Society and Museum, Riko’s Pizza, Grandview Auto Body, Gary Farkash, Lynn Farrell, Lisa Cruz, Jackie Waugh Brown, Paul Lizio and Theresa Gruber Caporale.
“Thank you to all who continue to support Hook and Ladder Company One and the Baldwin Fire Department,” former Commissioner Mike McDermott shared on Facebook. “The St. Patrick’s Day party was a huge success!”
Events like the St. Patrick’s Day party not only bring residents together for a fun night out, but also help support the ongoing work of Baldwin’s volunteer firefighters.
