A Homecoming party for East Meadow High School

Posted

East Meadow High School’s Homecoming 2010 proved to be glorious. The weather was splendid, the crowd was spirited, performing groups sparkled and the football team was victorious.

The day began with the traditional parade from Veterans Memorial Park to East Meadow High School, with some time to spare before kickoff.

The theme of this year’s Homecoming was “Major Cities.” Each float represented a different city, including: Hollywood, New York, Orlando and Las Vegas.

Once parade and pregame festivities wrapped up, it was time for football. The Jets squared off against Conference I rival MacArthur. East Meadow got off to a good start, and headed into the locker room at halftime with a 7-0 lead. The Jets added another touchdown in the fourth quarter, and won the game, 14-0. They remained undefeated at 3-0.

As for the other competition, the announcement of the 2010 Homecoming King and Queen, the court was introduced to the crowd. This year’s East Meadow Homecoming King and Queen are Chris Ochoa and  Nikki Giocastro.

The event also included performances by the cheerleaders, the Rockettes and the East Meadow High School Marching Band.
