Under the leadership of advisor Paul Henning and assistance from Kerri Shanahan and Attorney Allen Hyman, the team's rich history includes five county crowns, two Long Island titles and one state championship. Clarke was scheduled to compete on a state level on Wednesday in Mineola.

Recognizing teaching excellence

On April 18, East Meadow High School's Robert Alu accepted his honor as a Fellow of the Harvard Club of Long Island and was awarded a fellowship for a "Harvard experience." He was also recognized as "an exemplar of teaching excellence." Alu, a social studies teacher, was nominated by EMHS graduate Zachary Katz.
One of only two Nassau teachers to receive the fellowship, Alu will spend a few days at Harvard's Graduate School of Education in Cambridge, Mass. There, he will have a chance to customize his experience to cater to his academic and extracurricular interests.

In flight

They were were treated to a guided tour of the museum, including the space shuttle team center. The eight museum galleries delivered a "WOW" experience as students traveled through time seeing over 70 air and space crafts, from hot air balloons and kites to jet aircrafts and an actual lunar module on the moon.
