Few get into the Halloween spirit in greater fashion than those who participate in the East Meadow Public Library’s EMcon Anime Fest. The annual event, which took place last Friday, embraces the growing anime culture that originated in Japan, and encourages young adults from across the county to take part in arts and crafts, games and a costume contest.

The holiday celebration allows people of similar interests to come together to show their artistic side. It also serves a-s a complement to the library’s annual EMcon, a weekendlong celebration that draws thousands to the library.

Dozens of talented, creative teens showed up in their artfully made costumes to take part in the fun.
