The bank where “everyone knows your name” has opened in East Meadow.

First National Bank of Long Island celebrated the grand opening of its new East Meadow branch, located at 1975 Hempstead Turnpike on Oct. 5. Members of the East Meadow Chamber of Commerce and elected officials helped welcome the new bank to the community during a special evening cocktail party.

Michael Vittorio, president and CEO of First National Bank of Long Island (FNBLI), said that as a Merrick resident, he is very familiar with East Meadow and is excited to open a new branch in the community. Vittorio noted that East Meadow has an abundance of lawyers, medical professionals and businesses.

A lobby with comfortable couches and a fireplace adds to the bank’s customer-centric ambiance.

Vittorio, who proudly calls his bank “old fashioned,” was one of only two banks in New York included in a list of the 61 highest-performing banks in the nation, according to a performance study by Bank Intelligence Solutions.

“The culture we created is relative to serving our customers,” Vittorio said. “It is the bank where everyone knows your name.”

That slogan is not to be confused with that from the bar made famous by the popular ‘80s sitcom, Cheers. In fact, this one, which is worded differently, has been trademarked by FNBLI.

FNBLI has 33 branches on Long Island and in Manhattan. For more information, visit www.FNBLI.com or call the East Meadow branch at 516-357-7200.

“We really get to know the community,” Vittorio said. “We know the people.”
