A Westbury man has been arrested in connection with an alleged sexual abuse incident involving a minor in East Meadow, according to Nassau County police.
Detectives said the incident occurred on Jan. 4 at approximately 12:30 p.m. Selvin Bonilla Navarrete, 43, of 63 March Lane, was at Iglesia Pentecostal Jesus Es Luz, located at 242 E. Meadow Ave., where he serves as a church choir director. During a break, he drove a 14-year-old female member of the church to a parking lot at 1874 Front St. While inside the vehicle, police said, he inappropriately touched the victim.
Bonilla Navarrete is charged with third-degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child. He was scheduled to be arraigned on March 21 at First District Court, 99 Main St., Hempstead.
