Clarke booster club boogies down at fundraiser

Posted

The W.T. Clarke High School Parents and Booster Club danced the night away at its Winter Fundraiser on March 5 at the Spare Rib in Hicksville. Attendees enjoyed dinner, music and several chances to win prizes like a notebook computer, an iPod and tickets to the Mets, Yankees, Giants and Jets. Through events and outreach, the group fundraises for student-athlete scholarships at Clarke and for other various athletic endeavors at the school. By the end of the year, the group plans to present the Clarke athletic department with 36 court-side chairs with a rack and cover. The next fundraising event for the booster club is the annual Lottery Lunacy, scheduled for Saturday, April 24 at Levittown Hall at 7:30 p.m. A $20 raffle ticket will admit two people to the event, which includes an indoor tailgate party and games. For more information, call Liz Gaynor at 512-4814 or e-mail lgaynor@optonline.net. Gaynor, along with Walter Kakareko and Gerard Gordon, are co-presidents of the club. The group expresses its appreciation to Superintendent Louis DeAngelo, school board members, and other community leaders and residents for attending the event.
