Crime Watch

People named in Crime Watch items as having been arrested and charged with violations or crimes are only suspected of committing those acts of which they are accused. They are all presumed to be innocent of those charges until and unless found guilty in a court of law.

Burglaries

- A residence on Cypress Avenue in East Meadow was burglarized on Dec. 7. The loss was assorted jewelry. Entry was gained through a rear window.
- Jewelry was swiped by an unknown burglar from a home on Wellington Road in Salisbury on Dec. 3, sometime between 8 a.m. and 9:45 p.m.
- A home on Friends Lane in Salisbury was burglarized on Dec. 9, sometime between 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

- A commercial business on Bellmore Road in East Meadow was burglarized on Dec. 15. A register with cash was taken. Entry was made through glass on the front door.
- A residence on Franklin Avenue in East Meadow was burglarized on Dec. 16. Cash, an air pellet pistol, a laptop and an XBox 360 were taken. Entry was made through the front door.

Robberies
- A subject entered TD Bank on 999 Old Country Road in Westbury and handed a teller a note demanding $7,100. The subject fled with $666, police said. The incident occurred on Dec. 8 at about 11 a.m., and no injuries were reported.
- An unknown armed with a gun entered a Subway on 890 Old Country Road in Westbury on Dec. 10 at about 6:33 p.m., forced an employee into a back room, and told him to open the safe, police said. The victim told the subject that the safe was located in the front of the store, police said. The subject then instructed three employees to open the safe at the front of the store, which was empty, and then removed $500 and fled.

Grand larceny
- A 1994 Honda Civic was stolen from Manor Court, between Dec. 13 and Dec. 14.
- A 2005 Lexus was broken into on Bea Court between Dec. 16 and Dec. 17.
n A credit card was stolen from an automobile on Merrick Avenue in East Meadow on Dec. 6, at about 1 p.m.
- A GPS was removed from a 2005 Saturn on Bette Road in East Meadow, sometime between Dec. 12 at 11 p.m. and Dec. 13 at 7:30 a.m.
- A GPS was removed from an unlocked 2000 Chevrolet on Mercury Street in East Meadow, sometime between 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 13.
- A GPS, camera and a wallet with credit cards were stolen from an automobile parked on Hardy Lane in Salisbury, sometime between 11:59 p.m. on Dec. 14 and noon on Dec. 15.
