East Meadow High School celebrates 2026 homecoming with parade and school spirit

East Meadow High School students, staff and community members celebrated homecoming on Oct. 3 with a parade through the neighborhood and a football game against Farmingdale High School.

The festivities began at Veterans Memorial Park, where the East Meadow High School Jets marching band led school administrators, Board of Education members, faculty and students toward the high school. Community members lined the parade route to cheer on the procession.

This year’s parade featured Disney Pixar-themed floats, with students tossing treats to spectators along the way. Members of the homecoming court also took part in the parade, followed by appearances from the school’s cheerleading and kickline teams.

The celebration continued at the high school with performances by the Jets marching band, cheerleaders and kickline team. During halftime, Noah Garner and Gabriella Pena were crowned the 2026 homecoming king and queen.

The Jets then faced Farmingdale in a hard-fought football game, falling to their opponents, 21-14.

Although the game did not go East Meadow’s way,  the day highlighted the school spirit and community pride surrounding the annual celebration. The district thanked the students, families, supporters, administrators, faculty and community members who helped make the 2026 homecoming festivities a memorable event.
