Ex-cop arrested on child porn charges

An East Meadow man was arrested on Monday and slapped with eight charges of Promoting a Sexual Performance of a Child and 19 charges of Possession of a Sexual Performance of a Child, detectives said.
Thomas Cicero, 33, of Diamond Avenue in East Meadow, was apprehended by police on his block at about 6:10 a.m., police said. He is a former New York City police officer.
According to detectives, the Nassau County Crimes Against Property Bureau received information from a state investigator that the defendant was involved in uploading files on a file-sharing Web site that contained child pornography.
The victims, according to detectives, may have been as young as two years old.
Additionally, during the course of executing the search warrant police found nine vials believed to contain a controlled substance, police said.
Cicero was scheduled to be arraigned in First District Court on Tuesday.
