For what residents hope is the last time this winter, snow blanketed East Meadow once again throughout Thursday morning into the late afternoon.
As of 10 a.m., three inches of snow had fallen in central Nassau, according to the National Weather Service. The government agency has also issued a Winter Weather Warning for the region until 7 p.m.
The East Meadow School District closed all of its schools on Thursday, and the East Meadow Public Library is also closed.
While temperatures are not predicted to rise above 25 degrees for Thursday and Friday, the weather is expected to improve dramatically in the coming days, with sunshine and mid-40s temperatures as soon as Monday.
