NUMC doctor dedicates media center to his father

To honor the memory of his father, Jordan, Dr. Steven J. Walerstein, NuHealth’s executive vice president for medical affairs and medical director, and his family decided to turn their sadness into something positive and bring joy to the pediatric patients. With funds donated in his father’s memory, part of the NUMC West Side Pediatric Playroom was transformed into “The Jordan Walerstein Media Center,” with the addition of 2 Mac book computers and printers. The area also hosts two HDTV’s with Nintendo Wii and Playstation2 Gaming systems. Should any patient be unable to come out of his room or for those patients in our pediatric ICU, the “Jordan Walerstein Mobile Media Centers,” a Mac book computer or a PS2 gaming system can be borrowed for patient to use, thus providing a nice distraction from their medical ailments.
