East Meadow businesses are adding a splash of color to their storefronts this summer through a new beautification initiative launched by Friends for a More Beautiful East Meadow in partnership with the East Meadow Chamber of Commerce.
The Planters with a Purpose program provides participating businesses with a free planter filled with colorful summer annuals, which are delivered directly to storefronts. The goal is to enhance the appearance of local business districts while encouraging residents to shop locally and support the community.
The first businesses to receive planters include JAG Psychical Therapy, The Skinner Agency, The Bagel Place, A&C Pest Control, and Nostalgia Vintage and Thrift.
Businesses that participate receive the planter at no cost and are responsible for maintaining it after delivery. Organizers say the initiative is designed to brighten commercial corridors, improve curb appeal and strengthen community pride one storefront at a time.
Friends for a More Beautiful East Meadow and the East Meadow Chamber of Commerce hope additional businesses will join the program throughout the summer. Interested business owners can register by visiting bit.ly/4p83bWs.
