Keeping it Simple: Elder Law 101

Frank L. Buquicchio, a partner with the Estate Planning, Elder Law and Special Needs law firm of Russo Law Group, P.C. will give a presentation at the East Meadow Public Library on May 24 at 7 p.m. Buquicchio will address the four “must have” legal documents, planning for long-term care (Medicaid), how you can protect your residence and how to protect your life savings.

East Meadow Memorial Day Parade

The East Meadow’s Veteran’s Annual Memorial Day Parade and Services will take place rain or shine on May 28, starting at the East Meadow High School at 9 a.m. with kick-off at 10 a.m. It finishes at Veteran’s Memorial Park where there will be memorial services. Liz Fries and Dolores Rome have been organizing the Veterans Memorial Day Parade for more than 20 years and look forward to another successful year. Memorial wreaths could be purchased in advance at $75 to place at the memorial.

Youth Drug Awareness Program

The East Meadow Public Library invites teens 16 and older to an informative presentation where they will hear from East Meadow young people who have successfully battled addiction. At this program on May 31 at 7 p.m., you will learn the signs and symptoms of an overdose, where to get help, how to use a Narcan kit, and when the naloxone can help save a life.
