East Rockaway High School hosted its annual Future Fair for students in grades nine through 12, providing them with firsthand exposure to a wide range of post-graduation options and helping them begin planning for life after high school.

Held in the school gymnasium, the fair allowed students to meet directly with representatives from colleges, trade schools, employers, the military, law enforcement and health care organizations. The event gave students the opportunity to ask questions, learn about required training and understand what different career paths look like in practice.

Military recruiters from the Army, Marines and Navy spoke with students about service opportunities and career advancement. Health care professionals from Mount Sinai South Nassau Hospital discussed careers in medicine and patient care. Representatives from local colleges, including Long Island University and Molloy University, shared information about academic programs and admissions.

The Nassau County Fourth Precinct, NYPD, NEW YORK State Police and the East Rockaway Fire Department underscored public service options. Local employers, including Rolling River Day Camp, the JCC of Oceanside, Sunny Atlantic Beach Club and the Town of Hempstead, outlined training programs and potential summer employment.

To help students make the most of the experience, the counseling department provided grade-specific question guides. Freshmen were encouraged to explore a variety of interests, while sophomores focused on early planning and preparation. Juniors gathered detailed information to support college and career decision-making, and seniors used the fair to finalize plans for their next steps.

By connecting students with professionals from diverse fields, the Future Fair helped students better understand their options and make informed choices about their futures.
