East Rockaway High School earns School of Excellence honor

East Rockaway is proud to announce being named a 2025-26 School of Excellence by the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA).

East Rockaway High School has been named a 2025-26 School of Excellence by the New York State Public High School Athletic Association, recognizing the academic performance of the school’s student-athletes.

The designation is awarded to schools where at least 75 percent of varsity teams qualify for NYSPHSAA’s Scholar-Athlete Team recognition. Teams earn that distinction when the average grade-point average of the top 75 percent of their roster is 90 or higher.

The recognition comes after a strong academic year for East Rockaway High School. The school ended the 2025-26 school year with a 100 percent graduation rate for the fourth consecutive year, along with academic gains across the district.

District officials congratulated East Rockaway’s student-athletes for their commitment to their academics and athletic programs.
