East Rockaway schools recognize seven educators for earning tenure

The East Rockaway Union Free School District recognized seven staff members for earning tenure during the Board of Education meeting on May 27.

East Rockaway Junior/Senior High School Principal Richard Schaffer honored Shannon Conley (social studies), Noah Luft-Weissberg (music), Rebecca Mantle (counseling), Sunzena Miah (technology) and Christine Redden, chair of mathematics. Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction Sean Murray recommended district literacy coach Danielle Schneider for tenure, while Superintendent James DeTommaso awarded tenure to Rhame Avenue Elementary School Principal Jack Bixhorn.

The board recognized each educator for their service and dedication to East Rockaway students before pausing for a reception in their honor.
