Lynbrook students return for start of 2026-27 school year

Kindergartners were welcomed by Dr. Paul Lynch, Superintendent of Lynbrook School district, and their new teachers at the Lynbrook Kindergarten Center for the first day of school on Sept. 2.

Lynbrook students headed back to the classroom Sept. 2, marking the start of the 2026-27 school year across the district.

Students returned to their schools for a first day filled with new classrooms, familiar faces and the start of new routines.

At the Lynbrook Kindergarten Center, parents accompanied their children as they arrived for the first day, with students stepping off buses accompanied by their parents, carrying backpacks full of school supplies. Teachers and staff were on hand to greet the district’s youngest students and help them settle into their new surroundings.

Across the district, students met their teachers, reconnected with classmates and got acquainted with the schedules and expectations that will shape the year ahead.

For members of the Lynbrook High School class of 2027, the day marked a different kind of milestone, as seniors began their final year in the district, looking ahead to graduation next spring.
