Families gathered at Temple Am Echad for an interactive Israel Family Workshop, where children in grades K–7 explored Israeli culture through hands-on activities.
Students took part in a self-guided “tour” of Israel, receiving passport stamps as they visited different stations. Activities included learning traditional Israeli dances, creating sand art and enjoying foods like hummus and falafel. Participants also packed supplies for Israeli soldiers, adding a service component to the event.
The program was held in celebration of Yom Ha’atzmaut, which was observed earlier in the week on April 22. Families participated alongside their children, making the event a community-wide experience.
The celebration will continue with a Shabbat dinner and community event on May 1, featuring a trivia contest and additional festivities highlighting Israeli culture. For more information, call 516-593-4004.
