Video: Water main breaks in Lynbrook
Traffic rerouted as residents brace for blizzard conditions

Traffic was thankfully light on Wednesday morning when a water main broke near Ocean Avenue and Merrick Road in Lynbrook.
Long Island America Water workers were out trying to locate the break, and traffic was rerouted from Ocean Avenue onto Merrick Road going east.
Meanwhile, local DPW's and snow plows were out in the snow and ice mix in anticipation of predicted blizzard like conditions later in the day.
Residents and business owners were already working to clear the areas around their homes and shops.
Schools were closed, but children had yet to venture out into the snow.
