Five Nassau County gun shop owners –– including an East Meadow resident who owns a shop in Merrick and a Bellmore resident who owns shops in New Hyde Park and Seaford –– have been arrested and charged with illegally selling assault weapons, Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice announced on Thursday. UPDATE: On April 19, 2012, all charges against Michael Marinello and South Shore Sportsman, Inc., were dismissed by Judge F. Ricigliano in First District Court, Nassau County.

The Hewlett Neck home of Yuri and Marina Grinberg, was the place to be last Saturday as approximately 150 people enjoyed a night of dinner, music, dancing and drinks, along with a private Texas Hold-Em poker tournament that included cash prizes in an effort to raise money for the Long Island chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

My, how the holiday season crept up on us this year! One minute, it seemed, we were basking in the summer sun, and the next, Thanksgiving appeared out of nowhere.
