Rev. Walter Viktor Hillebrand smiled during his ordination to the sacred order of the priests at Trinity-St. John’s Church in Hewlett.

Trinity-St. John’s Rev. Walter Viktor Hillebrand was ordained on June 9 in front of congregants, family and friends.
The ordination was the first the Hewlett-based church has ever hosted. The Right Rev. Lawrence Provenzano, the Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Long Island, presided over the ordination.
Hillebrand, a Lynbrook resident, has been at Trinity-St. John’s for the past two and a half years and may now perform all the duties of a priest, including presiding over marriages and baptisms.
