Being fair to both New York baseball teams, Atlantic Beach resident and Lawrence High School senior Katy Miller, who sang the National Anthem at a Yankee game in August, applied her vocal talents to “God Bless America” during the seventh inning stretch of the Sept. 25 Phillies-Mets game at Citi Field.

She enjoyed the support of more than 40 family members and friends, including high school music teacher Rich Buckley, Pam Gallopini, the Lawrence district’s music department director and Superintendent Gary Schall, a huge supporter.

Miller has performed at Carnegie Hall and Joe’s Pub in Manhattan, and was featured last week for the second time on WNBC, Channel 4’s NY Live Show, where she met her Broadway idol, Sutton Foster, the Tony award-winning actress from “Anything Goes.” Miller is expected to sing the National Anthem prior to a home Islanders game this season.
