Lawrence school district named 'Best Community for Music Education'

The National Association of Music Merchants Foundation has recognized the Lawrence school district as Best Communities for Music Education.

Only 975 school districts nationwide receive this prestigious honor. Acknowledging Lawrence’s ongoing commitment to providing exceptional music education and opportunities for its students

The NAMM Foundation is a nonprofit organization that dedicates its work to advance active participation in music making across the country. While recognizing districts nationwide that demonstrate an outstanding commitment to music education. 

“We are thrilled to be named among the Best Communities for Music Education by the NAMM Foundation,” Superintendent Ann Pedersen said in a news release. “This honor reflects the hard work and dedication of our educators, administrators, and community members who continually strive to cultivate a rich musical environment for our students. Music education plays a vital role in fostering creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration, and we are committed to ensuring that all students have access to high-quality music programs."
