Nassau County police are investigating after a body was discovered in a marsh area of North Woodmere Park on June 16.

According to police, officers responded to the park at 11 a.m. after receiving a report of what appeared to be a body floating in the water. Upon arrival, officers confirmed that a human body was located in the marsh.

Police have not released the identity of the individual, pending further investigation and notification of family members.

The investigation remains ongoing.
