Buddying up to the firefighters

Posted

About 150 pre-school to fourth grade students at the Hebrew Academy For Special Children (HASC) in Woodmere spent two hours getting acquainted with firefighters from the Woodmere and Meadowmere fire departments during the school’s annual Fireman are our Friends on June 3.
Firefighters showed and explained how they use their equipment. The students boarded a fire truck, received fire hats and vests, and learned how to do the Stop, Drop & Roll safety drill.
Established in 1963, HASC is a nonprofit, non-sectarian agency, which provides a wide range of supportive services to children with special needs.
