Embracing poetry at Hewlett Elementary

On Thursday, April 29, students at Hewlett Elementary School celebrated national "Poem In Your Pocket Day." Throughout the month of April, classrooms and hallways were bursting with poetry in honor of this special day. The children took part in the delight of discovering just the right poem and the thrill of sharing that poem with others in a public celebration of poetry in the reading garden. Students in all grades were invited to read original poetry as well as those written by their favorite poets.
