Established in 1981 by a group of Holocaust survivors, the FIDF is a nonprofit organization that aims to help IDF soldiers with their cultural, educational, financial needs. The FIDF supports the soldiers, before, during and after their military service as well as families of fallen soldiers and wounded veterans.

The group is the only organization in the United States authorized by the IDF to raise money for its soldiers’ humanitarian needs, which includes items such as ambulances, field hospitals, hygiene kits, medical devices and plasma.
