Both Franklin Square and Elmont civic groups held Christmas tree lightings last week.
The Elmont Chamber of Commerce sponsored a tree and menorah lighting ceremony on Dec. 4, replete with performances by local groups. The Franklin Square & Munson Fire Department also held a tree lighting ceremony that featured a visit from Santa Claus and a gingerbread house decorating contest.
