Hewlett High scores big for autism

Prior to the boys’ lacrosse game, Bulldogs 4 Autism, an organization begun by Hewlett High School lacrosse presented a $13,000 check to the Ascent Youth Alliance for Autism at the school’s Lacrosse Day on April 25.
Donations are generated by selling T-shirts, and in four years Bulldogs for Autism has raised $46,000. Founded by Syosset resident Larry Haber and his sons, the alliance supports programs that advance the education and social skills of children with autism.
The boys played Bethpage and lost a tough game 8-6. The girls played afterwards and recorded a 15-2 victory over Wheatley.
