A two-car crash at the intersection of Davis Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard immediately in front of Jimmy’s Place in Inwood at 9:30 a.m. on May 14, injured two motorists and resulted in one of the drivers being trapped in his vehicle and then rescued by Inwood Fire Department firefighters and emergency medical service personnel.

Inwood Fire Chief Anthony Rivelli Jr. said the ensnared motorist was taken to the hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries. The other driver declined medical attention. Nassau County police from the 4th Precinct also responded to the scene.

Residents posted on Facebook that that portion of Sheridan Boulevard has always been hazardous as motorists more often than not exceed the posted speed limit.
