Three sought for Cedarhurst assault, attempted robbery

Three people allegedly attacked a man and tried to take his car keys from him on Bayview Avenue in Cedarhurst at 7:05 p.m. on March 11, Nassau police said.

The man, 68, had parked his vehicle and was walking south on Bayview Avenue, when two men and a woman, who then allegedly demanded his car keys and threatened to hurt him, approached him, according to police.  

When he refused, the woman allegedly hit the man in the back multiple times. The man began yelling for help and the three left the scene heading east on Monroe Street. The man declined medical attention and no items were reported stolen.  

One man is described as black, roughly 20-years-old, 5-feet, 6-inches, wearing a black jacket, gray pants, a black hooded sweatshirt and a face mask. He was carrying a backpack.

The other man was also described as black, around 20, the same height and was wearing a gray jacket, also a black hooded sweatshirt, white pants, white sneakers, a face mask as well, and also carrying a backpack.

The woman was also described as black, the same age, 5-feet, 2-inches, with a stocky build. She was wearing red pants and a black jacket.
