Squeaky Clean headlines SULAM-LI benefit concert

An afternoon of inspirational musical entertainment will highlight SULAM-LI’s annual benefit concert at Temple Beth El at 46 Locust Ave, in Cedarhurst on Sunday, Feb. 5 at 1 p.m.

The concert will feature the band Squeaky Clean and the choirs from The Brandeis School and Temple Avodah. Squeaky Clean, is a Parent’s Choice award-winning musical group that began as a folk singing duo in Greenwich Village in the 1970s with Suzanne Smith and Glenn Paul Manion, and now with their youngest daughter Addison and drummer Phil Leone focus on 1950s Rockabilly and perform in schools, libraries, theaters and outdoor concerts.

SULAM, a Five Towns-based special education program, is a collaboration of seven synagogues including, Congregation Sons of Israel, Hewlett-East Rockaway Jewish Centre, Reconstructionist Congregation Beth Emeth, Temple Am Echad, Temple Beth El, Temple Hillel and Temple Israel.

In Hebrew, Sulam means ladder and the programs offered provide a step up in the Jewish education of children with special needs. All proceeds from the concert will benefit SULAM-LI.
