A Valley Stream man was arrested for possession of a gun in Doxey Brook Park in North Woodmere on Dec. 26.

A Valley Stream resident was arrested after Nassau police found him with a gun in a North Woodmere park at 9:50 p.m. on Dec. 26.
While on patrol, officers came upon a vehicle in Doxey Brook Park on Branch Boulevard when the park was closed. The subsequent investigation found Matthew David Sheinin, 19, of Brookside Drive in possession of a Sig Saug 9mm gun, police said.
Sheinin was charged with fourth-degree possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a firearm and other Town of Hempstead violations. He will be arraigned on Dec. 27 at First District Court in Hempstead.
