Village of Cedarhurst and PSEG Long Island officials said that unidentified individuals are contacting customers in Cedarhurst and asking for an immediate payment toward the electric bill or deposit through a pre-paid debit card to prevent the shutting off of service. Officials said that PSEG “never handles overdue bills in this manner.”
