Woodmere man arrested for sexual abuse

An alleged incident of sexual abuse has a Woodmere man being charged with second-degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child.

Judah Karkowsky, 41, of Edward Avenue, a volunteer paramedic for the Woodmere Fire Department, was arrested on Sept. 23, by detectives of Nassau County’s Special Victims Squad.

Police said an investigation was conducted for an incident that allegedly happened on Aug. 28 at 3 p.m., and that led to Karkowsky’s arrest. He allegedly inappropriately touched a boy, 13.

Karkowsky arranged on Sept. 24 at First District Court, at 99 Main Street in Hempstead, he was released without and the court issued a temporary restraining order. His next court date is Oct. 8. Karkowsky is being represented by  Michael Soshnick of Mineola.
